Secure Mesh Communications
Yarn Mesh divices are super efficient and ultra low power, yet capable of long transmission distances between nodes. We recommend maximum distances between nodes of up to 10km. 25km max.
Enable real-time monitoring and control across challenging environments with Yarn Mesh.
Our advanced mesh network delivers reliable, long-range connectivity for your devices—reducing site visits, automating remote operations, and providing the actionable data you need to make informed decisions.

Using our integrated on-board AI/ML camera and AI cloud processing pipelines our devices are capable of identifying target and non-target species in 'real-time' and arming New Zealand Auto Traps (NZAT) AT220s and AT520-AIs or driving actions with other devices.
Our devices utilise custom designed and manufactured low-light solar panels to ensure that 24/7 operation is possible, even under tree canopies or where sky views are obstructed.
Each Yarn Mesh device subscription comes with an Integrated Management System (IMS) license. IMS gives Yarn Mesh users The Ultimate Vantage Point, where they can look through time to generate charts, reports, actions, tickets and alerts and get an up to the minute understanding of their trapping networks for knock-down or maintenance efforts.

Users can review imagery captured by the Yarn Mesh cameras to see what is interacting with devices across the network. IMS shows the inference on the image, the species classification and its confidence probability. Users can override the auto classification if we get it wrong. This helps us get it right next time.

Being able to monitor for exceptions is key to an efficient trapping operation, when it could take days or weeks to get around to every device. Yarn Mesh and IMS gives you the ability to only go where you are needed, to top up bait/feed levels or clear something that's stuck.

IMS has an easy to use dashboard for drilling down into your data. Once charts are created you can move onto entire dashboards, and from there you can create reports or send links to 3rd parties for later vieweing. All of this can be automated so you only have to build or set things up how you like them once.
Nobody wants to spend more time in the field than is necessary. Yarn Mesh turns an AT220 (AT520-AI) into an in-field telemetry device, so you can manage by exception and know when issues with bait or battery begin to emerge, rather than relying on inefficient monthly or quarterly checks for the sake of it.
All Yarn Mesh devices can have their firmware and functionality changed over the air, from the comfort of the office. No in-field flashing is required. Yarn devices can have partial or full updates applied. Our devices are capable of upgrading attached devices and sensors, such as the Yarn AI TrailCam and the NZAT AT520-AI.
Our devices have three modes of operation: Mesh Mode – where a device can participate in the mesh and have up and down-stream connections, Child Mode – where a device won’t participate in the mesh and only have an upstream connection, and Sleep Mode – where a device is asleep except for a five minute window at GMT:00:00 where it will be in Mesh Mode.
If you use an NZAT AT520-AI or a TrapNode equipped device such as a retrofit AT220, you will have peace of mind that the traps are only catching what was intended. The Yarn Mesh camera embedded in these devices is always watching to ensure that the traps are only armed when needed. We want to make sure that we're making positive changes to our world, one eliminating one pest at a time so our natural world can thrive.
Yarn Mesh devices can be configured on a per-network or per-device basis, as needed by the situation or location. This allows for customers who require higher inference and probability thresholds before arming traps, for those in Kākā or Kea (large NZ native birds) country, to have fine-grained control over which devices are doing what.
Thanks to IMS, we know exactly how many images have been taken and exactly what they are, or aren’t. Using this data for a site, we can get an understanding of how well the system is working.
